About Me
Red Sox fan for 50 years. High School teacher in Manassas, VA. Born in Worcester; grew up in Shrewsbury in an era when men who went to war had the lawn mowed by 1:00p, sat down in their t-shirts and flipped the tab on a Schlitz and watched quality baseball in low def black and white.

Sorry I got a little bit behind on my blog comments but I liked that Jen piece. I never really "got" the Buddhist thing but can appreciate that outlook. Have a great night and keep the Faith and all that. posted @ 10/20/2008, 10:17pm |

Miracle. The watch started working again last night. Still going. RIP Richard Wright. We're all getting older, but our great, great grandchildren will be listening to "Dark Side Of The Moon". I know Bill Lee's kids will be. posted @ 09/16/2008, 7:02pm |

I appreciate that you're taking blame for this one, because I definitely wasn't at the Park this weekend, so it wasn't me! posted @ 09/01/2008, 6:40pm |

I was kind of hoping you might claim responsibility. Please email me beforehand when you have negative waves about a game, and I will take the appropriate actions. posted @ 09/01/2008, 7:15pm |

Jed,
It doesn't surprise me. Twenty years ago, when I was in the air force, I saw similar trends beginning to develop. The modern soldier has to be well-schooled and think on his feet. One of my favorite marines was a guy named Carl White, who was attached to the Sou. Vietnamese marines as an advisor and trainer. I miss him greatly - he always treated my geography classes to a spectacular slide show.
