You came from a dead end NL team.
& for some reason I thought you didn't fit in with the dream.
I assumed you were trying to be him,
My hopes for you in Boston were very, very dim.
We traded a really great guy for you!
My first reaction was to scream at John, Theo, & you too.
I'd cry, complain, & make fun every time you came up to bat.
My actions were wrong & I'm sorry about that.
Your hits & home runs kept coming so fast.
I thought for sure that they would never last.
But now that you've played in Boston for a while.
I've realized when I see you Jason Bay, sometimes I actually want to smile!
I had to write this. & I wish there were some way I could let him read it.
