Let's do some Comparisons.

Kevin Cash Catching

Career '02-'07.... 5 years total - 3 years TOR,1 year TB and 1 year Sox

Career Fielding .993 FP .992 LgFP ok ok ok Not bad but with Boston in '07 it was .985 FP .991 LgFP ok ...do yah see anything here ??? ummm O.K. let's compare to Dougie...

Doug Mirabelli Catching

Career 96-07... 5 years SFG, 1 year TEX, "14 games" SDP and 7 years SOX

Career Fielding .992 FP .991 LgFP ...la la la... O.K .. Now check this out. Past two years with Boston '06 - .994 FP .992 LgFP, and in '07 - .995 FP .991 LgFP. hmmmm back to Kevin....

Kevin Cash at the Plate

Career - .167 BA, .223 OBP and .265 SLG. His best hitting year was his LAST with the Jays '04 - .193 BA, .249 OBP and .309 SLG. He slugged .387 in '05 with the Rays...... wow... O.K. now with the Sox he had in 07 - .111 BA, .242 OBP and .148 SLG (cough cough cough) ..blah blah BLAH !!!!!

Catchers are a die'n Breed... huh ?? You laugh.. .. You play Fantasy Ball , or create Franchise Teams on an MLB Video game ??? Try and get a decent Catcher ...who can HIT to a "fans" expectations !!! There aren't many out there in the MLB for THOSE "fans"... Maybe I'm just getting older and realising a fact that's been around along time... or maybe it's just what I'm seeing on the Little League fields. But that tangent thought of mine should and will be saved for another blog......Ok Ok back to the plate of Dougie....

Career .231 BA, .317 OBP, and .407 SLG. ok ok cutting to the point. Let's just skip straight to Dougie's last 2 years with OUR Sox.... '06 - .193 BA, .261 OBP and .342 SLG. Now it get's MORE interesting. ... '07- .202 BA, .278 OBP and .360 SLG

Clearly the better Catcher for the job , Stat wise alone would be Doug. But for SOME strange reason my GUT is telling me it's time. Time for what ?? It's time to move along to something "new". There is a Purpose behind all actions and reason. And in this case.... in MY opinion...Heaven FORBID... Wake is winding down.

	Tek isnt paid for his offense.. he is arguably the best catcher in the league.. he has a BOOK on every hitter in the majors that he studies before games.. I could care less if he strikes out everytime he gets to the plate, as long as he doesnt lose his magic behind the plate 03/14/2008 9:27 AM

	Kevin Cash is actually doing a great job catching Wake. And anyone who talks bad about Tek doesn't understand the game of baseball and the importance of a catcher that can manager a game.
